What Our Customers Say?

Dimitris Papadi

The only glitch that I found - which isn't perhaps with this 4K monitor only - is that the power delivered by my laptop isn't enough to power the monitor with the USB-C cable only unless I keep the brightness low. If you want the brightness at normal levels you need to also use the included power supply. This behaviour is documented in the manual, so I consider that the monitor works as expected.Other than that, the quality of the monitor is good and the brightness and clarity are also at high levels, almost the same as the 4K screen of my 3000 EUR DELL laptop. Touch functionality is also very nice to have.

I tried out a couple of portable monitors before settling on this one as I needed it to fulfill a couple of different purposes. This is the biggest screen I could find which is lightweight, portable, and can run off a battery pack or straight from a laptop/MacBook with no extra power source making it ideal for work purposes and multi-screening. The size, definition, and lightweight nature have also allowed me to use it as a portable monitor for raspberry pi running retorpie, this screen is big enough for four players! The case which comes with the screen and cables and all high quality also, the case has kept the monitor protected and safe when I've been transporting it. Definitely the best option out there for a portable monitor.

All attempts to adjust contrast, brightness and colour to resolve this were unsuccessful. I tried "Reset" in case it had deviated from some optimal setting before I received it but there was no difference. Sending it back and buying a different brand.

I've bought two of these displays, I've been using them for half a year now. Overall they get the job done, but they do have a number of issues, listed bellow in order of (personal) importance:1. One of them is generating a very annoying high pitched sound when brightness is 100% and contrast is somewhere between 50% and 80%, exactly the interval where I would like it to be. So I had to go for 100% contrast and lower brightness.2. These are portable, right? Well, not so much, once I unplug the power cord, they revert to factory settings. I need to set up the color temp, brightness and contrast every time I move around.3. The back-lighting lamp can be seen as a whiter frame around the margins of the display for like 2 minutes, until the displays warm up. See the attached picture. On the good side, the finishing of the displays is really high quality. Also, having multiple input options was a great deal for me when I decided to buy them, because I use them on two different notebooks and a desktop (when at home). They also have VESA mounting, which helped me a lot on desktop usage scenario.Bottom line: they are usable, but I wouldn't buy them again knowing what I know now.

Screen works wonders for travel setup. Perfect quality on Windows environment, little issues on Mac 4k scaling but managed to get it working too. Company has also superb customer service!

Race De Priest

Great for traveling as a digital nomad.

Botjan Brumen

I've been using it for a week now and it's been working great so far. The only complaints I have is that the smart cover could be a little better and provide more options for placement and the screen itself has some light bleed but it's not that noticeable.

It is not often I take the time to review a product, however my interactions with uperfectmonitor need to be shared. I purchased a Raspberry 4 with the Raspberry 4 factory 5-inch color touchscreen, had it delivered, and soon assembled it. Within the first 24 hours I managed to drop it face down and totally destroy the 5-inch touchscreen. So, I logged into Amazon to see what alternatives there were for a replacement screen. I compared all the features and specs of what was available and decided the uperfectmonitor best fit my needs. I placed an order for the monitor which quickly arrived in just a couple of days. My first impression upon receiving the monitor was how professionally packaged the unit was to protect it. I don't think I have ever seen anything as well packed and they obviously put a lot of effort into engineering the packaging materials. They also included the power supply and just about every cable you would ever need to hook the monitor to any device. Before getting started installing my Raspberry PI, I read through the instruction booklet that came with the uperfectmonitor. On the specifications page it listed the monitor's resolution as 1366 x 768. This concerned me as I had ordered the 1920 x 1080 version of the monitor. I immediately wrote the company inquiring about the difference in resolutions and in less than 24 hours they go back to me and gave me a simple little procedure to test the true resolution of the monitor I was sent. As it turns out, I indeed received the correct monitor and was told they simply included the wrong manual in my box. They assured me this issue would be addressed and should no longer happen. While I was waiting for my parts, I tested the display on numerous devices. I used it as a third display on my PC, connected it to my 84-inch HDTV, and even used it as a security monitor display at our business. In every case it worked flawlessly, yielding a fabulous display.By and large, installation of the Raspberry PI is very simple, however, when installing the Raspberry PI board in the enclosure there are two sets of pin headers that must be lined up so they fit properly together. during assembly I didn't realize this and as I joined the pieces, I managed to bend several of the pins. I again contacted the company and again within 24 hours they responded and told me they would send the pieces I needed directly to me at no charge. Two days later I got the parts, plugged in the PI and was up and running. Their support is absolutely second to none.As to the display, it is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are vibrant the detail crisp, the touchscreen responsive yet not too sensitive. The case is nicely designed with a support in the back to allow for various viewing angles and an internal fan to help keep things cool. it even has built-in speakers that actually sound great given the size of them. There is one downside that may be critical for some users. With the touchscreen connector plugged into the Raspberry PI the system will not boot and hangs with an error HD1. Strangely though, if I disconnect the touchscreen the PI boots correctly and the monitor displays the desktop as it should. Once booted, if the touchscreen connector is then plugged in everything works as it should - no system crash and perfect touchscreen response. It is only a problem at initial boot. Once again I contacted support and once again within 24 hours they got back to me. This time they didn't have an immediate fix but the issue was immediately sent to their engineering department for analysis. While that was happening, I did a lot of research on the Internet and found many others who have had similar problems. I tried 11 different methods to attempt to solve the problem, but none seemed to work. I spent literally hours on Google looking for a solution and finally found one, and only one, that fixes the problem. The issue seems to stem from a conflict between the touchscreen and the Raspberry PI's network boot option. It only affects network boot and all of your other network options will continue to work just fine.Should you have this problem, here are the step-by-step instructions to turn off the network boot option: (I wish I could take credit for this but after hours of searching I finally found that two individuals had come up with the solution.)(of course, don't type the quotes with the commands)1. In your editor type "sudo -E rpi-eeprom-config --edit"2. Add "NET_INSTALL_ENABLED=0" anywhere in the boot config file.3. Hit Control-X to exit out of the editor. Then type "Y" to save the boot config file4. In your editor type "sudo reboot". This will reboot your Pi. After reboot plug in your touchpad and it will now reboot without getting any errors. This only works if you boot off the internal SD. If you try to boot off a USB thumb drive or external SSD you will still get the error and once again will have to plug in the touchscreen manually.Bottom line: this company is first class, stands behind their well-engineered and thought-out product, and provides the best support I have seen it a long long time. I highly recommend them. They will take care of you. I, for one, will be looking forward to additional products from them and won't hesitate to purchase them if it is something I need.

Great product. Perfect for sharing a PowerPoint Presentation with a client. Perfect size - fits in my Thule laptop case along with my ThinkPad Helix 2. Highly recommended. Some have complained about the metal stand, but is works perfectly and folds easily for storage. Sound from the display's built-in speakers is balanced. No complaints at all. Great product at a great price.Update: (after 24 hours) Needed to use the AC adapter to use on my ThinkPad Helix-2 as the machine does not have a USB 3.1 port. Which would make a PowerPoint presentation awkward having to use an external power source. Solution: A Morphie "Powerstation XL" that has USB-C output. That provides power to the display without having to connect to a electrical outlet. Currently using the included HDMI cable which is thick and stiff, but it works. This "Road Warrior: is about to hit the "Road" with the "Dog & Pony Show" Watch out!!!Now using a mini-display port cable and that is much better. Less bulky than the very stiff HDMI cable included with the display, which required an adapter which added to the bulkiness of the setup.

Prime day no, 2 purchase. Item arrived at warp speed.... however it was evident it was smaller and not the product I purchased. Bought, received and returned all in the same day. Replacement screen came 2 days later, correct item this time, nice resolution, EXTREMELY lightweight. the ports are kind of janky, and makes me feel that disconnecting and connecting the cables more than a few times will break them.Either way, I needed a screen, and it'll do for now.

I'm using this for a second monitor for my Macbook Pro when traveling or otherwise

I use this display as a 7th screen for my company's chat program. It works perfectly! I have also used this screen as a 4th display for my laptop, also flawlessly. I used the screen for about four days before I moved my computer setup and lost the power brick. I reached out to the company and they're replacing it at no cost! LOVE the customer service!!

Item was of the most peerless quality. Glorious packaging. Delivery was ever so speedy. Recommended.

Purchased after much research, brightness and clarity are really good for the price, touchscreen works well, have only tried within Win10 environment but very responsive, I would say it’s comparable to an iPad screen for its size, if you need a second screen that is portable then this would be one to look at, works well with USB-C full protocol, and the integrated stand with the ports is a novel idea that seems to work well, only thing I would say to the manufacturer is to change the supplied USB-C cables to at least one right angle type.

The Builder

Well: I hooked it into my Mac, which it did recognize as an external display, but the monitor itself didn't work!! It may have been due to the rough nature in which it was shipped, so sadly, I never was able to experience what it actually could do....I went ahead and did a refund of this purchase (at least for now), and will continue looking in the future for something else that truly works (with, prayerfully, no more shipping issues).

I was looking for a small second monitor for my PC, something I could use to watch films / TV on whilst gaming on the bigger main screen and being powered through my PC so I picked this up on offer at £135. Having read a few reviews of this style of USB-powered monitor my hopes weren't high but have been thoroughly exceeded. The unit itself is plastic and feels like what it is, a cheap lightweight small monitor. Connections are all solid and it comes with a basic set of cables (a little short for my use-case but I expected that). Brightness is very good - it is angled to avoid any significant glare from the window next to my desk and works well in bright summer daylight and at night. Setup was simple - I pliugged in the (full size) HDMI cable and ran a USB-A to USB-C cable from a spare USB3 socket on my PC. And it just worked. No drivers needed, no fiddling in display settings. It has bult in speaker which I wasn't expecting to be of any real use but they are surprisingly good. My main use-case is gaming and watching media wearing headphones but as my PC had no speakers connected this does a perfectly good job of providing audio when I want it without headphones.Image quality is okay. Colours are good but there is some slight motion blur / tearing when watching media. It's not terrible and is fine to watch. But it isn't as good as my main monitor, an iPad, or a TV.Overall, this is a really nice addition and well worth a look if you're after a small monitor that can be powered by your PC and driven by your graphics card.

One of the great things about reviews for portable monitors is reading about the various ways people actually use them: From displays for a Pi raspberry to gaming with a smartphone or watching online films on holiday; the options seem limitless. As even greater computing power is being packed into ever small devices, the use of a portable monitor to connect to an existing device that you already own, rather than buy a dedicated laptop, PC or TV is becoming increasingly attractive, which is why I chose this product.- Occasional travel with mini-PCAt home I use a mini-PC and larger desktop monitor, but just once or twice a year I travel and take a big and heavy 17.3 inch laptop with me for office work while away. So, I thought: why not take the mini-PC with this monitor and a compact keyboard? Not only is it lighter than the laptop, I don't have to waste time making sure e-mail and files are synced between PC and laptop. For me, there are two key criteria for selecting a monitor like this: Portability & Connectivity- PortabilityWhat I particularly like about this monitor is the compact size (13.3) and the light weight. I originally tried out a different brand of 15.6 inch monitor, which was significantly heavier and bulkier. If you are looking for portability then choose the size and weight to suit.- ConnectivityAs I have discovered, connectivity can be an issue with portable monitors. There are two sides to this: a) the output connector on your device (smartphone/PC/etc.), and b) the sensitivity of the external monitor to insufficient power supply.a) Output connector: I have a new Minisforum mini-PC and an older ASRock Beebox – both have a USB C connector. However, the Minisforum has USB C 3.0 and delivers audio and vision through the USB C cable without a problem, but the Beebox will not – it is only USB C 2.0. For the Beebox, I use the HDMI input. If you only have a USB C type connector (typical for a smartphone) then you need to check if your device will support an external display. It appears that recent, Apple devices and top of the range Samsung and Huawei devices support an external display. I have a Redmi Note 7 and it does not support external display, though I believe there are adapters (USB C to HDMI powered, with a built-in chip) that will work with an App, e.g. DisplayLink (if I find out more I will update this review).b) Sensitivity of monitor to power supply: With this monitor I have no trouble connecting my two mini-PCs, either through USB C or HDMI. This monitor comes with a 5V/3A power plug, which is more powerful than the usual USB charger plug. As noted in the user manual, it is important to use this adapter. If the screen shows “No signal” or “Energy saving mode” then it recommends changing over the USB C charger cable to the other input. I experienced this problem with the other monitor I previously mentioned, but it was particularly acute and almost impossible to get the HDMI connection with my Beebox. Luckily, the power charger and connectivity with this monitor works fine for me, which seems to be echoed in previous reviews.- Dual and single mode displayIn addition to using the monitor in single mode for occasional travel, I can also use the monitor as a second display, either as an extended or mirror display. In single mode the built-in speakers are adequate and better than other monitors speakers I have heard. In the photos you can see the monitor connected to the Beebox (white) in mirror mode. The BeeBox is also connected to a home cinema sound system. For listening to music, it is more convenient to use the portable monitor in mirror mode, without turning the large TV on.With my Minisforum mini-PC I can also use the monitor in extended display mode. This is particularly useful when I have to refer across multiple documents.I liked the quality of the packing and the accessories, including the user manual (in German) with FAQs that cover the above points and more. Of less use was the included screen protector – but I always find these difficult to get exactly right anyway.Other plus points that I like with this monitor are:- Good quality wallet/case (no too heavy) that also acts as stand- The “pen hole” for supporting the monitor without the case- The separate control buttons (much more user friendly for me than a toggle switch)- A full-size HDMI input, not a mini HDMI – also allows standard cables to be usedOverall, this monitor is well designed and built and demonstrates the way this technology is developing. It won’t be long before standard smartphones will catch up with the connectivity of top of the range devices, and “Display Desktop” will be come a standard feature on Android. In the meanwhile, I have already sold the “brick” of my old laptop and I am very happy with my new light and handy monitor.

I'm not sure what pen they used but it's just something that any normal length pen or pencil can be used for, or even just a chop stick or similar would be fine. The case it comes with makes for an excellent stand itself so you may never even have to use the pen hole.

Will this work with the firestick

Hi there, I don’t have a fire stick but believe it only requires HDMI input which the monitor does have, it is quite close to the back panel so may require a short extension cable for the stick to connect, also the sound would probably be better through a bluetooth from the fire stick rather than the monitor, power for the stick is I believe supplied separately via a wall adapter. I’m sure it would look amazing, I’m not disappointed with it for what I’m using for as a second monitor and connecting to an Nvidia shield tablet
